The immune system |
Without the immune system , the body will suffer from so many bacterias and infections that may be unbearable to contend with.
Everyone has an immune system present in their body as long as they are alive, because if the immune system is broken down then the entire system will eventually go down as well.
The immune system is paramount to our well being. As a matter of fact, the level of our entire wellbeing is dependent on the immune system.
What is the Immune System?
The word system is associated with immunity to indicate that it involves more than one component.
The Immune System is the combination and network of cells, organs, proteins, and tissues that work together to guard the body from bacterias, harmful toxins, infections and other substances that may pose health threats.
When harmful substances or pathogens are being found in the body, it is the function of the immune system to fight against those pathogens or bacterias.
It serves as the saviour and defender to the body against viruses , germs and dead cells.
Functions of The Immune System
The immune system has only one but very essential major role. Its importance in the human system cannot be over emphasized.
The key function of the immune system is to protect the body from attacks. It fights against bacterias , infections, pathogens, harmful toxins and also flushes dead cells out of the system.
This is why when the immune system is weak , any minor attacks like bacterias germs, can break down the body.
Harmful agents are first detected by the immune system, and when these agents are detected, other components work together to get rid of those dangerous pathogens.
Components of the Immune System
As the name implies immune system, it means association of various components that resist attacks that can harm the body.
Below are major components that make up the immune system:
- white blood cells (leukocytes)
- the spleen
- the bone marrow
- the lymphatic system
- the thymus
How to Boost The Immune System
The following tips will help you step up the energy level of your immune system.
- Weight lose
- Exercise frequently
- Have enough sleep
- Avoid stress
- Eat balanced diet
- Stay hydrated
- Quit Alcohol and Smoking
1.Weight Loss: According to the CDC, excess weight affects how the body functions. When the fat in the body is in excess, it can lead to a lot of abnormalities which are capable of affecting the immune system.
To put the immune system in a good state, then you must maintain a healthy weight. Regular exercise can assist in weight loss.
2. Exercise regularly
The importance of exercise obviously cannot be over flogged. Every part of the body is affected when we exercise.
Exercise boosts our immune system and prevents us from falling sick.
3. Have enough sleep
Denying ourselves of good sleeping time has a negative effect on the immune system. Ensure to always go to bed on time.
4.Avoid Stress
Stress weakens the body system. When the entire system is overworked , then the immune system is at risk.
5.Eat balance diet
This is very important in taking care of our immune system. Balance diets are meals that are rich in all the classes of food( protein, vitamins, carbohydrates, fat, oil and water).
Our system needs all these elements to perform in their maximum capacity.
6. Stay hydrated
You need to drink enough water to stay hydrated. Drinking water early in the morning before meals flushes waste toxins from the body and saves the body from harmful substances.
7. Quit smoking and alcohol
Major organs like the kidney, also play a vital role in keeping the system immune.
Excess smoking and alcohol can affect the kidney and the lungs. When the kidney is affected then our immune system is also affected.
Summary
As important as the immune system is, it is necessary that we take full responsibility in taking care of our immune system.
This can be achieved through eating the right meal, regular exercise and also limit how we expose the body to harmful substances.
